  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar or honey as an alternative
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger fresh, grated
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil toasted preferred
For Thickening
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch or arrowroot powder for gluten-free

  • 1 cup Broccoli or snap peas

Preparation Steps
  1. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over the top.
  3. Cover and set the slow cooker to low heat, cooking for 4 to 6 hours.
  4. Remove the chicken, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, and stir into the remaining sauce.
  5. Shred the chicken in the slow cooker, mixing it into the thickened sauce.
  6. Serve the dish hot, spooned over rice or noodles, and optionally garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
