Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup Onion Diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder Adjust to desired heat
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Regular paprika is a substitute
  • to taste Salt & Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Water
Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Can mix with other cheeses
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Sharp cheese recommended
Dough
  • 1 package Pizza Dough Can substitute with whole wheat tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter Olive oil can be used
Optional Flavor Boosts
  • to taste Garlic Powder Optional but recommended
  • to taste Dried Parsley Optional but recommended

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and translucent.
  2. Stir in 2 cloves of minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook, breaking it up. Brown for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  5. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Roll out pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick and cut into 10 strips.
  8. Place filling in the center of each strip, top with cheese, fold dough, and pinch edges to seal.
  9. Brush tops with melted butter and optionally sprinkle with garlic powder and dried parsley.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

Use fresh tortillas for the best texture, and don't overfill each stick to prevent bursting during baking.
