Preparation Steps
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large saucepan until melted and bubbly.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent, then add garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the rinsed rice, and toast for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Combine chicken broth, soy sauce, and spices; stir gently until combined.
  6. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 15-20 minutes without lifting the lid.
  7. Let sit covered for 5 minutes after cooking, then fluff with a fork and stir in fresh parsley.
