Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat, then add 1 ½ pounds of lean ground beef. Cook while stirring frequently for about 7-10 minutes, or until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
  2. Once the beef is browned, add 4 minced garlic cloves into the skillet. Stir thoroughly to combine and allow the garlic to cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together ½ cup of soy sauce, ½ cup of orange juice, ½ cup of brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch until smooth.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over your cooked ground beef in the skillet. Stir well to ensure that every piece of meat is coated with the flavorful sauce.
  5. While the beef simmers, steam 3 cups of broccoli until bright green and tender-crisp, about 4-6 minutes.
  6. To serve, place some cooked rice in bowls, then spoon the savory Korean ground beef mixture over the rice. Top with steamed broccoli for a colorful presentation and garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
