Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine lean ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mix until fully blended.
  2. Divide the mixture into six equal portions and shape into round, flat patties.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and brown for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove the patties from the skillet and keep warm in an oven preheated to 300°F for about 15 minutes.
  5. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour and cayenne pepper, cooking for about 7 minutes.
  6. Gradually pour in milk while whisking continuously. Allow mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Season gravy with salt and pepper, then return patties to skillet. Simmer in gravy for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
