  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Half-and-half for lighter option
  • 2 cups Spinach Kale can be used instead
  • 1/2 cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes Fresh cherry tomatoes can be swapped
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Nutritional yeast as vegan alternative

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, dried onion, salt, and pepper using your hands. Shape into four patties and set aside.
  2. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add olive oil and unsalted butter. Once melted, sear the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and diced onion, sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, then pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  5. Fold in spinach and sun-dried tomatoes, letting the spinach wilt for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Return the seared hamburger steaks to the skillet and allow everything to simmer together for another 5 minutes before serving.
