  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Fresh or panko for extra texture
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coarsely Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Onion
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
For Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
For the Sauce
  • 1 large Yellow Onion Diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic Cloves Minced
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Dry White Wine Optional broth substitution
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan
  • 1 tablespoon Horseradish Adjust to taste
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Chives For topping

Method
 

Prep Ingredients
  1. Dice the yellow onion and mince the garlic cloves, setting them aside for later.
Mix Patties
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, egg, salt, black pepper, dried onion, breadcrumbs, and Dijon mustard. Mix gently until just combined, then shape into four patties.
Cook Patties
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil and unsalted butter. Once hot, sear the patties for about 5 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
Make Sauce
  1. Reduce heat to medium. Add diced onion and minced garlic, seasoning with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 3 minutes until soft, then pour in dry white wine and let simmer for 2 minutes.
Finish Sauce
  1. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle boil. Add grated Parmesan and horseradish, mixing until melted. Adjust seasoning.
Combine
  1. Return cooked patties to the skillet, coating with sauce. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes and garnish with chopped chives.
