Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large pot, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat. Stir frequently until the butter is completely liquid and bubbling gently.
  2. Once the butter is melted, add 4 cups of mini marshmallows to the pot. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Remove the pot from heat and immediately fold in 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Gently mix until evenly coated.
  4. Prepare a greased 9x13 inch pan by lining it with parchment paper. Press the rice mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly.
  5. Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, allowing the mixture to set firmly.
  6. Once chilled, lift the set mixture out of the pan using the parchment paper and slice it into squares or rectangles.
  7. In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt red, white, and blue candy melts according to package instructions.
  8. Using a piping bag or a fork, drizzle the melted candies over each Rice Krispie treat square and sprinkle with festive sprinkles.
  9. Allow the decorated treats to set at room temperature for 15-30 minutes until the candy coating hardens.
