  • 8 oz Mushrooms sliced; firm crimini or button mushrooms recommended
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced; fresh garlic preferred
  • 1 cup Beef Broth can be substituted with chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce adjust for sodium intake
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 6 oz Swiss Cheese can be substituted with cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1 cup Sour Cream can use Greek yogurt for a healthier option
  • 4 pieces Hamburger Buns can substitute with gluten-free buns
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil for browning the beef
  • to taste Salt and Pepper for seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley optional garnish

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Add chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté until onions are translucent, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and beef broth, simmering for about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in sour cream until fully incorporated.
  6. Cut hamburger buns into cubes and layer them in a greased casserole dish. Pour beef and mushroom mixture over the buns.
  7. Sprinkle Swiss cheese over the casserole and bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
