Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare two 8-inch round cake pans by greasing them and lining the bottoms with parchment paper.
  3. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Combine cake mix and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl, then blend into the wet mixture on low speed.
  6. Divide batter between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Apply a crumb coat of frosting and chill for 15 minutes. Add a final thicker layer of frosting after.
  9. Decorate with fresh edible flowers just before serving.
