- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by lining with parchment and greasing the sides.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in milk until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder before gradually mixing it into the wet ingredients.
- Divide and smooth the batter between the prepared pans, then bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes in their pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Apply a crumb coat of frosting to the cooled cakes, chill for 15 minutes, then frost generously and decorate with fresh flowers.
