Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the baking dish with olive oil or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, and milk. Season with salt and pepper and mix until just combined.
  3. Press the meatloaf mixture into the greased baking dish and bake for 20 minutes until edges brown.
  4. While the meatloaf is baking, bring a large pot of salted water to boil, add macaroni, and cook until al dente, about 6-8 minutes. Drain.
  5. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to create a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until sauce thickens. Mix in shredded cheese, paprika, and dry mustard.
  6. Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring well. Pour this mixture over the baked meatloaf layer.
  7. Sprinkle additional cheese on top and bake for another 25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
