Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the chilled puff pastry to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into four rectangles.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each pastry rectangle, leaving a half-inch border.
  5. Whisk together the egg and milk, then brush the mixture around the edges of each pastry.
  6. Toss sliced strawberries with sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch until well coated.
  7. Spoon the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer on each pastry.
  8. Fold the edges of the puff pastry inward to create a border around the filling.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
