  • 10.5 oz Condensed French Onion Soup Try using homemade soup
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Greek yogurt as a lighter alternative
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Consider Gruyère or provolone for variation
  • 2 tbsp Butter For browning the beef
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Parsley Optional garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt about 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the ground beef and cook for approximately 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  3. Season the beef with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, cooking for an additional minute to ensure spices are evenly distributed.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the seasoned beef with the cooked white rice, condensed French onion soup, and sour cream, stirring until well incorporated.
  5. Spread the beef and rice mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese across the top of the casserole and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
