Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until smooth and about 1/8 inch thick.
- Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the rolled-out pastry.
- Cut the pastry into 1-inch wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Twist each pastry strip and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between the twists.
- Whisk together the beaten egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the twists with the wash.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow the twists to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving.
