Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until smooth and about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the rolled-out pastry.
  4. Cut the pastry into 1-inch wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  5. Twist each pastry strip and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between the twists.
  6. Whisk together the beaten egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of the twists with the wash.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Allow the twists to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving.
