Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x4-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  4. Mash the ripe bananas in a separate bowl until smooth.
  5. Mix the mashed bananas with the neutral oil and melted chocolate until well combined.
  6. Combine the banana-chocolate mixture with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle dark chocolate chips on top if desired.
  8. Bake for approximately 45 minutes, checking with a toothpick.
  9. Let the loaf cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely for at least 2 hours.
