Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of brown sugar, ⅓ cup of soy sauce, ¼ cup of apple juice (or bourbon), and 2 cloves of minced garlic. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Once shimmering, add 1.5 pounds of chicken thighs and sauté for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Reduce heat to medium and pour the prepared sauce over the browned chicken. Stir gently to coat evenly and simmer for 5-7 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water until smooth. Gradually add to the skillet, stirring constantly, and cook for 2-3 minutes until desired consistency.
- Serve the Bourbon Chicken over steamed rice or alongside fresh vegetables. Enjoy!
