Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 2 cups Filtered Water The essential base for brewing tea; quality water elevates flavor.
  • 2 bags Black Tea Bags Feel free to use green or white tea for a lighter twist.
For the Mango Puree
  • 2 pieces Ripe Mangoes Choose soft, fragrant ones or frozen if out of season.
For Sweetening
  • 1/4 cup Agave Nectar A nature-inspired sweetener; honey or simple syrup are suitable alternatives.
For Flavor Enhancement
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice Brightens the drink with a zesty kick.
For Serving
  • cups Ice Cubes Crucial for chilling the beverage.
  • sprigs Fresh Mint Optional, for garnish and aroma.

Equipment

  • saucepan
  • Blender
  • Pitcher
  • Fine-mesh sieve
  • Heatproof Container

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil 2 cups of filtered water in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a rolling boil. Remove from heat and pour the hot water over 2 black tea bags in a heatproof container. Steep for exactly 5 minutes to extract rich flavors without bitterness. Remove the tea bags and allow the liquid to cool slightly.
  2. While the tea is still warm, stir in 1/4 cup of agave nectar until fully dissolved. Then, add 2 cups of cold water to the brewed tea and stir well.
  3. Peel and dice 2 ripe mangoes, removing any fibrous parts. Place the diced mangoes in a blender and blend until completely smooth. For a silkier texture, press through a fine mesh sieve to remove fibers.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea with the strained mango puree and 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Stir vigorously until well integrated.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes before serving. Pour the mango iced tea over the ice and garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

Use high-quality ripe mangoes for the best flavor; frozen mango works well but may slightly dull the taste. Adjust sweetness to taste.
