- Cut the goat cheese log into 24 small balls, roughly 1-inch in size. Freeze for about 30 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, mix all-purpose flour, garlic powder, and kosher salt.
- Whisk together a large egg and milk in another bowl until blended.
- In a third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with fresh thyme.
- Coat each cheese ball in the flour mixture, dip in the egg wash, then roll in the panko mixture.
- Return coated cheese balls to the freezer for another 30 minutes.
- Heat canola oil in a large pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Fry 4-5 cheese balls at a time for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden brown.
- Remove cheese balls and drain on wire rack or paper towels. Season with salt and serve.
