  • 1 pound Ground Beef or ground turkey/chicken
  • 1 can Black Beans drained
  • 1 can Corn drained
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes drained
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or vegetable broth
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Chili Powder adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese cheddar recommended
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 bunch Green Onions chopped

Method
 

Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 7–10 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. In your crockpot, combine the cooked beef with the black beans, corn, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, diced onion, and minced garlic. Season with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir until mixed.
  3. Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
  4. Check the chili around the last half hour of cooking to ensure it's bubbling gently and heated thoroughly.
  5. Ladle the chili into bowls and garnish with shredded cheese, sour cream, and green onions. Enjoy!
