Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to skillet, sauté for 3-4 minutes until onion is soft.
  4. Spread beef and vegetable mixture in the baking dish. Layer sliced potatoes on top.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then sprinkle with cheddar and parmesan cheese.
  6. Pour beef broth or water around the edges of the dish.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
