Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, egg, active sourdough starter, sugar, salt, and flour. Knead on low speed for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for about 8-10 hours, until doubled in size.
  4. Gently roll the dough into a rectangle, spread garlic butter, cheese, and herbs, roll into a log and pinch seams.
  5. Slice the log into 8 pieces and place them in a greased baking dish. Let them rest for 2 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before serving.
