Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and add marinara sauce with Italian seasoning. If using, add ground turkey and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with chopped spinach or zucchini until creamy. Fold this mixture into the sauce.
  4. Combine cooked ziti with the sauce in the skillet, stirring until well coated. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, and optionally add a dash of Italian seasoning.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
