Step-by-Step Instructions for Baked Meatball Parm Subs
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh herbs, egg, and garlic powder until just combined.
  3. Scoop out equal portions of the mixture (about 1.5 inches) and roll them into balls, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until browned and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  5. While meatballs are baking, warm your marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Once meatballs are done, place them inside the split sub buns, spoon warm marinara sauce over them, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Return subs to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and optionally garnish with fresh basil or crushed red pepper flakes before serving.
