Step-by-Step Instructions for Baked Meatball Parm Subs
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh herbs, egg, and garlic powder until just combined.
- Scoop out equal portions of the mixture (about 1.5 inches) and roll them into balls, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until browned and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
- While meatballs are baking, warm your marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Once meatballs are done, place them inside the split sub buns, spoon warm marinara sauce over them, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
- Return subs to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and optionally garnish with fresh basil or crushed red pepper flakes before serving.
